Final Presentation

Guernica (Final)

  1. Feedback on presentation 3.3.11:

There were some significant strengths to the presentation - notably, the confident and interested manner in which much of the information was conveyed. The slides contained the right amount of information - nice and clear, not overloaded, and well designed (the simplicity of b/w works well for the subject).

However, there's room for development. Whereas the hostorical contextualisation was thorough, there was a conspicuous lack of contemporary resonances brought forward - it might have been interesting to look at an example of contemporary war art (e.g. John Keene, Peter Howson).

Also, it would have been most useful to have had the painting itself on screen when talking about it - the initial look at the image was very brief, nowhere near long enough to absorb something so complex. There was an attempt to provide a detail when discussing symbolism, but this could have been extended throughout.

Finally, you had to be gonged off - this didn't leave enough time for each person to make an equal contribution. But, this was an overall promising first attempt.
